Two people were transported to the hospital after an accident that involved a San Diego County Sheriff's Department vehicle in Santee, California.
The accident happened around 9:15 p.m. on the northbound State Route 67, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials stated that the deputy stopped behind Caltrans (Department of Transportation) on the highway during a closure. As the officer came to a stop, the vehicle that was behind him also stopped. A pick up truck then hit him from behind. The car then hit the deputy's car causing some minor damage.
