A police supervisor who responding to a call at approximately 9:25 p.m. Saturday was involved in a crash.
A few moments after the collision, a gunman approached the patrol vehicle. While the officer was still sitting in the car, the suspect opened fire and ran off.
The officer was not hit, but was transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries from the crash, Officer Johnna Watson said.
The officer recovering Sunday morning, Watson said. Police officers from surrounding agencies continue to search the area around the shooting.
