Teen Shoots Brother, Wounds Old Sibling Then Kills Himself

An argument about food ended badly when one of those arguing picked up a gun. The 13 yr old boy shot his 6 yr old brother dead. He then shot his older brother, then shot himself dead.

Police are yet to identify who the owner of the gun is but does it even matter? It won't bring back the two dead kids. Still, no matter how many people the negligence of irresponsible gun owners kills, there won't be any stricter gun laws being passed any time soon.

This is getting to be too common, children with access to guns. It's tragic that the gun culture is so lax in some states that no one blinks an eye. They may not do anything about the laws still, but how many more deaths does it take before they do? Guns are supposed to be used to defend not to attack or be used to threaten.

Well we can't have it both ways. Either guns are meant for defense, or we need to have them regulated out of existence (even though criminals will always manage to acquire them). The problem here is not the gun. The problem is irresponsible parents. The teenager in question could have killed his siblings with a baseball bat or a knife. Anyway, the gun-control argument is getting old. I fall back on the Second Amendment.

Why on earth was this kid able to get a gun in the first place? Hopefully, more details will emerge soon but it seems likely that there has been some negligence and the gun had been left in an accessible place. I don't want to jump to conclusions before we get additional information but there have been so many similar incidents recently, all of which could have been avoided with a little extra care.
