Today the state of Ohio executed Steven T. Smith, 46. In a state prison in Lucasville, Ohio, Smith was put to death by lethal injection. The inmate died at 10:29 a.m. according to a spokesperson from the state prison.
Steven T. Smith was convicted of killing a 6 month old girl Autumn Carter, the baby girl of his live in girlfriend, Kesha Frye. in 1998, during a drunken sexual assault that lasted up to 30 minutes Steven T. Smith slammed the victims head so hard into a couch that the fabric left an impression on her face.
Smith is the tenth person executed in the United States this year and the second in Ohio.
