Officials stated three correctional officers had been assaulted Sunday during a disturbance at Turney Center Industrial Complex in Hickman County, Tennessee.
Authorities say one of the three officers had been taken hostage during the incident. Two of them have been hospitalized in critical condition. The other was released overnight.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with these officers," said state corrections Commissioner Tony Parker.
Authorities say the incident lasted about three hours. They are currently conducting an internal review of the incident.
