MILLINGTON, TN - The man suspected of the shooting near Naval Support Activity Mid-South in Millington is a National Guard employee. He was apprehended by other National Guard employees and was held until police officers arrived on the scene.
The base was put on lockdown, and then was lifted a short time after the gunman was taken into custody, a U.S. Navy official said. "This is not Navy related," the military official added.
The two victims were alert and speaking to medical personnel as they were being taken to The MED. They have non-life threatening injuries, one was shot in the leg and another was shot in the foot, a source said.
