Victim has shootout with car thief in Phoenix and wins sending suspect to the hospital. Phoenix police say a suspect is in the hospital recovering from a gunshot wound after being chased down by the owner of a stolen vehicle. The incident started late Saturday night near Sheridan and 14th streets. Police say the owner of a stolen car got in another vehicle to follow the suspect, and eventually the two began exchanging gunfire.
