When force has to be used

Hi guys. I'm in the Police Academy and I just want to ask the LEO's a question. If someone could be a threat, and force has to be used do you feel comfortable using it? Do you feel like this day and age, the media and the public make you second guess if you want to use physical force?

Honestly I don't stop to think about. I will afterwards to see if I could do better for the next time. You just have to be in control and it doesn't get excessive.

Our goal as Police Officers, is to make it home to our families. I can't worry about the media or public dictate when or how I can use force. We as Officers have to control the situation to the best of our ability.

Our Police training and experience should always be out first reaction. If we second guess ourselves or even hesitate for a second, we might get hurt or not might make it home to our families. We have to make sure the force is appropriate and under control.
