A Tennessee woman was arrested after she allegedly tried to remove a body from the casket during a funeral service.

Cynthia Ann Frierson, 36, was charged with disrupting a memorial service. She was also charged with
public intoxication, driving on revoked/suspended license, immediate notice of accident and unlawful drug paraphernalia.

Witnesses say Frierson entered the funeral home that was actively having a memorial service and walked up to the open casket. She allegedly then grabbed at the body inside of the casket and tried to pull the body out of the casket.

“Frierson then refused to leave, and approximately six people had to pull her away from the casket and take her outside,†stated funeral attendees.

Authorities says Frierson sideswiped two vehicles with her truck and fled just before arriving at the funeral home.

When police officers arrived, Frierson was sitting outside the funeral home. They say she smelled of alcohol, had a small glass pipe with her, and her speech was slurred.

Frierson remains in jail with a bail set at $6500.
