The vicious attack happened Tuesday in the city of Salem, New Jersey. A video of the ferocious assault was later posted on Facebook. Authorities were able to obtain a copy of the video.
The video shows the suspect savagely beat the victim as the two year old son watched and pleaded for the suspect to stop the violence on his mother.
The suspect in the case has been identified as Latia Harris, 25, of Salem.
Police chief said the it was "physically sickening to watch." He said he was annoyed that no one tried to call for help.
"There is a moral and social breakdown in the fabric of our, society which is clearly evident when a woman gets pummeled in broad daylight in front of her child while a dozen people
pull out their phones to record the incident instead of calling for help," Salem Chief of Police John J. Pelura III said in a statement.
"There is so little regard for human life, by the actor and the bystanders.
The suspect was heard on the video screaming and swearing at the victim. It seems Harris is upset about something that happened at her work.
In the video you can also hear Harris threaten the victim's two year old son. "You better get your son before I kick him in the (expletive) face, too," she said.
After Harris was done beating the victim she spit on her and walked off.
The victim was treated for her injuries at a local hospital.
New Jersey Police are still searching for the woman seen on the amateur video. They have tried to find her at two known addresses.
Harris has not returned to work since the incident.

What??? Wow... like in front of a child? This is so sad. That little boy will be traumatized at what this woman did. People like this are crazy and need to be locked up like the animals they behave like.

I cannot believe no one shouted at the woman or tried to stop her or at least protect the child. All those people could easily overpowered her and it is a breakdown of morality in society to video a criminal act taking place. There is no law to assist, but if the shoe was on the other foot, wouldn't you want someone to help rather than video it?

They did know each other and the woman did hand herself in eventually.
