Police agencies struggle to find officers

Local police agencies find it difficult to recruit, hire new police officers, calling it a crisis

I think one of the problems is that the salary isn't attractive enough.

Police officers don't ever get a fair shake anymore. Everything they do is always taken out of context. Who really wants to put themselves in that position.

In the past, being an officer was a profession someone would be so proud to pursue, not anymore. The officers are asked to do to much, they get criticized for everything and more importantly it's not safe for any of them.
