Shocking Photos Of Overdosed Parents

LIVERPOOL, Ohio. A police department in Ohio posted shocking pictures of a couple who were passed out in a vehicle with their kid sitting in the backseat.

Authorities say Rhonda Pasek, 50, and James Lee Acord, 47, were allegedly passed out from an overdose of heroin.

The East Liverpool police officer pulled the car over after he witnessed the man driving erratically. When Officer Kevin Thompson walked up to the vehicle, he saw Acord’s head “bobbing back and forthâ€, and when he spoke it was “almost unintelligibleâ€. Pasek was unconscious and slumped over in the front passenger seat.

The officer posted the photos on the department’s Facebook page to raise awareness of the heroin epidemic and hopefully deter others.

“We feel it necessary to show the other side of this horrible drug,†the FB post stated. “We feel we need to be a voice for the children caught up in this horrible mess. This child can’t speak for himself but we are hopeful this story can convince another user to think twice about injecting this poison while having a child in their custody.â€

Both adults were taken to the emergency room and survived the overdose.

According to police, James Lee Acord had pleaded guilty to operating a car while impaired, and endangering a child. Rhonda Pasek pleaded not guilty to endangering a child, disorderly conduct and public intoxication. The 4-year-old child was taken to social services.
