A man suspected of being the subject of a pursuit by a California Highway Patrol officer on a motorcycle that ended in a fatal crash was arrested Thursday night, authorities said.
Police say Alberto Morales Quiroz, 26, was taken into custody in connection with the death of Officer Lucas Chellew.
Officials say Quiroz was allegedly riding a stolen motorcycle while being chased by police and was involved in a crash that resulted in Officer Chellew being fatally injured.
Quiroz is going to be arraigned Friday at Sacramento Superior Court, which is located in the jail.
