Alberto Quiroz will face at least three felony charges in the death of Officer Lucas Chellew. Officer Chellew, who was on his motorcycle pursuing the suspect died after he crashed into a pole.

Quiroz was riding an allegedly stolen motorcycle that the police officer was chasing when he was involved in a collision that resulted in Officer Lucas Chellew being fatally injured, according to authorities.

"He should have just pulled over." "He should have pulled over once the police got behind him, could have prevented a lot of this from happening," said security supervisor Christopher Peterson.

Quiroz, 26, will face at least three felony charges in the death of the Sacramento CHP officer when he appears in court Monday afternoon. He is being held at the Sacramento County Jail on $575,000 bail.

"He could be looking at double digits as far as the number of years in prison," criminal defense attorney Steve Plesser said.

Officer Chellew was an eight-year veteran of the CHP. He leaves behind a wife and two children.
