Over the weekend I had to take my dad to the ER for dehydration and a bacterial infection, and I was surprised at the number of cops in the ER! There was one major 'incident' that brought in three patients (it sounded like a barfight - I was eavesdropping!) but even an hour or two before that...
I'm sure they're vigilant in keeping an eye out for certain things, as with any holiday or "party" situation (prom, homecoming, games, etc), but I'd be interested to know if there is actually more activity these nights or not.
I think the motorcycles would only be used in certain areas and situations, but other than that it's up to what's available and what/where/when you're patrolling or doing that shift.
I don't know about that. I think if "everyone" knew about that happening, the cop would be under heavy scrutiny. And maybe he was punished by way of community service.
I would hope it's just like any other jurisdiction: something somebody chooses or are particularly talented at. I have a hard time seeing any law enforcement as "bottom of the barrel", there are difficult moments in every area.
I have a follow up question: what, if any, do you look the other way for frequently? I would personally have a hard time being picky over something like no turn signal in certain situations (for example in no traffic, in a designated turn lane etc vs heavy traffic). I'm not saying it's *right*...
I think probation is a good thing, and doesn't inherently cause those things. But that said, I think those things are caused by just an individual's reaction to stress. I think it's very subjective to each person, in every situation. If we got rid of everything that *could* cause PTSD/paranoia...
In hockey, I can't stand Patrick Kane. He acts like a juvenile off the ice, like a frat-kid punk. And on the ice he's *extremely* talented, but gets away with being super lazy. It drives me crazy! He needs to grow up, quickly.
I just caught this on TV the other night and thought it was pretty good. The premise is that a police officer isn't thrilled by his sister's boyfriend, and needs to be proven that he's not useless. So, naturally, he takes him on a ride along. Along the way, they encounter a bad situation and...
I did not even want to click on this thread. What a detestable thing to do. There will always be sick, sick people. I hope they find the help they need.
Wow, it wasn't that long ago that I read an article that said the Red Cross had enough blood and some of it was actually going to waste. Not that they were discouraging donations, but just 'slow down'. My dad is a cancer patient, I will ask next treatment what I can do to give blood.
These are the types of situations where you should take precautions and just lock the guy down. If you can't make a joking threat about having Ebola (like the viral video of the man on the airplane), then you shouldn't be able to make terrorist-like threats like this. I have a pretty sinister...
I hate clowns and this would scare me - but I love horror and being scared, so I would definitely want to at least experience him.. then I'd run the other way. :) I wonder if it has any connection to the new season of American Horror Story.
Yeah, I've spent money on both videogames (for DLC's etc) and mobile games. I can see how it could be a bad thing if people get way overboard, but I don't see it as a bad thing. I always think of it with what I would use the money for instead: "Yeah, I would skip buying a candy bar so I could...
Ahhh I'm so excited for this season! The first episode was amazing! I don't want to give away any spoilers if there are people who haven't watched it yet, but aaahhh!
It is a very scary thing, and I'm glad the US is looking at it very seriously. I hope the whole world can come together and try to minimize the threat in Africa, if not eliminate it.
