What do you regret the most?

I regret not taking on more experiences when I was younger and did not have kids. It is much harder to get out and travel more with the little ones and we will have to wait until they are older. I wish I could have explored Europe before settling down with a family. I can still do it eventually...

    Police scanner?

Do any of you own a police scanner, or are they even legal where you live? They used to be a popular form of entertainment when I was growing up. Some families owned them and we would sit around listening to what was going on in the community, but I do not hear of them being used really anymore.

What is one thing that you can not live without?

My morning coffee. I can do without just about anything else, including the internet, but my coffee is my baby in the morning.

What do you do when you're bored?

I find myself being bored a lot more these days than I used to be. When I get bored now, I usually clean, work on a sewing project, surf the web, or find a new recipe to cook.

Are People More Callous These Days?

Some people are more callous these days in that they are more interested in being nosy than actually thinking about what they can do to help in the situation. I think people stay out of the way for fear of being sued if they try to help. There are hungry people and Lawyers out there who would...

Woman got naked at Dunkin’ Donuts on a dare, police say

Oh wow, no group or club is worth me getting a police record for. You have to consider the consequences before you decide to take on a dare like that. If she was stupid enough to commit that act, then she deserves the police record...common sense!

    Paying for equipment?

Do police officers have to pay for their own guns and belt equipment? It seems as though every officer has something slightly different on their belts and I was curious if that is because they have to pay for their own gear? I know that there are law enforcement stores where officers can shop...

    Thanking your police

There are a lot of nasty police officers out there and I have had my fair share of their grumpy attitudes, so when one goes above and beyond with customer service and is nice to work with, I show a lot of appreciation. It is not a good feeling to call for a police officer to help you or report a...

    Which phone do you use?

I have a Galaxy S4 and it is an amazing phone. I can do just about anything with it. The graphics and resolution of the phone are also very nice. I went with this phone because everyone I have spoken to likes there's and there are some problems with the iPhones.

    Thanking your police

Do you ever stop to give police officers a big warm "thank you" after they have helped you out in some way? Whenever I get assistance from the police, I always try to make a big what to do about it and give them a huge thank you for their service. Officers have to deal with so many horrible...

    Accident investigations

It was a "why it happened" question. I saw on the news later that evening that the hydraulics on the truck failed and so the roll off arm came up without the driver of the truck knowing it. There is a huge gaping hole in the overpass.

    The end of IE

I did not hear that news, very crazy since it has been my main internet tool. I just recently got Firefox, so we will have to see how it goes. I do know that there have been a lot of problems with security breeches with IE. There was a major one earlier this year, right?

    Would you do it?

That is good that you would ask your friend that question. If you can't uphold justice in any circumstance, then you should not be a cop. Hopefully your friends and family would not be stupid enough to commit a crime in your presence. Some people feel they are above the law.

Would you turn a loved one in?

I absolutely would turn them in because I would not want to get in trouble for not doing so, not to mention that the person needs to face justice. I would actually hope that the loved one did not tell me about it at all. I would not want to be in the situation to have to turn that person in...

Serial Killer From Your Own Area

You took my thunder away! I am a Washingtonian too and apparently this place is a breeding ground for serial killers. I think there are more with ties to Washington than any other state. I do not have any neighborly ties like you do though, that is super scary that your grandma used to be a...

    A Feel-Good Story

I wonder if this female does have a food bank in her area, it is sad that someone would have to resort to stealing to feed the kids. It is not right, but at least she stole a cheap food like eggs as opposed to a steak or something fancy. It is nice to hear that people stepped up their donation...

    Ferguson Police Chief's Resignation Announced

I think the chief made the right move under these circumstances. It is sad that a police department would even have a slight amount of racial biased in it. It would make sense to add more black police officers to the force to help out with the relations and make the black people of the are feel...

Do officers suffer from post traumatic stress as a normal part of the job?

I would imagine that they do having to be exposed to some of they see in their line of work. Imagine having to see a dead body or something lying there and having to go about your job like it is no big deal for the time being. I have a friend who told me that they go through debriefing and...

what would you change about your past?

I am not sure what I would change, probably who my daughter's dad is because I should have seen then writing on the wall back then. He has not been the best role model for her in life.

What are the advantages of being a neighbor of a police officer?

My neighbor is a police officer and I always feel very safe when he is home. I live in a good community anyway, but it is nice knowing that help is close if I need it. Plus we always have good conversations and I learn a lot about police work.
