Wow - that's just scary! Some people clearly shouldn't be mothers, but at 17 years old she's virtually a kid as well. What was going through the mother's mind is beyond me. The kid needs to stay with the grandparents from now on.

Desperate men take desperate measures. But to do such a thing to your own child is pretty shocking. Exposing your child to the risk of getting ill is just unacceptable. I just hope that he faces the right kind of punishment for his crimes.

I've heard of situations where prisoners are moved across state lines simply to reduce the numbers, given that some prisons are so overwhelmed. Maybe the justice system will look at changing it's approach to the penal system and locking people up. Or maybe they'll just build more prisons....

Even if there aren't explicit instructions on profiling, I'm convinced that implicitly there will be profiling going on. It's the nature of the society with live in. Stereotyping and judging helps people to cut corners, regardless of the rights and wrongs of it all.
