Kariasa Thomas distracted by Facebook as 3-year-old girl drowns.
A 3-year-old girl drowned a few feet from Kariasa Thomas who was supposed to be watching the little girl, allegedly logged onto Facebook with her phone for about 15 minutes. She never looked up to check on the children in the water, police said.
Kariasa Thomas, 37, was charged with reckless injury to a child Wednesday, authorities said.
