Alton Sterling, a 37-year-old black man was shot and killed after a confrontation with two police officers outside a Baton Rouge convenience store.
Police were called to the convenience store after receiving a disturbance call from an individual who claims they had been threatened by a man with a gun, according to authorities.
Police said they made contact with Alton Sterling in the parking lot of the convenience store. After an altercation with Sterling shots were fired.
Both officers have been placed on administrative leave while the incident is being investigated.
