PHOENIX. Authorities are investigating two suspicious letters that was mailed to the Phoenix office of U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake of Arizona, a Republican who was elected to the Senate last year.

Called in for the situation, emergency crews in hazardous materials gear could be seen outside the building.

Directly across the street U.S. Sen. John McCain has an office and authorities have told staff not to open any packages as authorities investigate, a spokesman for Sen. John McCain said.

This incident comes a day after authorities said a letter sent to the office of a Mississippi senator contained ricin. The Secret Service is also reporting that they have intercepted a letter that was addressed to President Barack Obama that contained a suspicious substance.
