Putnam County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Beth Nelson said Officer Ahscari Valencia of the Algood Police Department in Tennessee pulled Cook in Putnam County when the suspect fired. Nelson said Valencia was wearing a bulletproof vest, which saved his life.
