Police say a man was shot four times in his own driveway by one of the two carjacking suspects. The incident happened Monday in northwest Harris County, Texas.
Ed Turner, 68, had just came backed to his house when two men in their early 20's approached him.
"He confronted him and asked if he could help. He said when the guy pulled the gun out, he struck one of them in the face with a pole," said Jonathan Luna who came over to comfort the victim.
Police say the victim gave them information about the two suspects as he was being placed into the ambulance.
He was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Authorities are still searching for the suspect who earlier shot Ed Turner and stole his 2003 silver Ford F-150. They found the stolen truck Monday night a few blocks from the shooting scene and it had been set on fire. Police have collected security video that captures the suspects igniting the carjacking victim's truck.
Turner's son spoke to reporters and said that his father was out of surgery and expected to recover.
Police ask that you contact the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s office at 281-446-1196 if you have any information about this case.
