Boulder City, NV. Boulder's City police chief, Thomas Finn has been fired.

In a press release, the city also said, "Consistent with the city's practice of not discussing details of personnel actions, further comments from the city will not be made at this time."

Finn who was returning for his first day of work after a long family leave. The chief was confronted by both the city manager and city attorney who offered him the opportunity to resign.
Thomas Finn was fired on the spot when he declined their offer.

"As far as I am concerned, he's a good police chief," said Deonne Oliver.

Some residents thought Finn was terminated because of how the police department handled a visit from the Mongols Motorcycle Club in June.

"There was a couple of tickets that were written that probably shouldn't have been, and as a result the Mongols didn't spend much money. That's the only thing I can think of that maybe the council is a little upset," said Oliver.

When Finn was asked about his future plans, he said he's doesn't plan on going anywhere.

He said he has more work to do in Boulder City and that he will be seeing city officials again during a meeting with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
