A couple from Dawsonville, Georgia, have been arrested and charged with child abuse and other charges.
The two are suspected of inflicting “excessive pain” on the 18-month-old boy and refusing to get the him proper medical care that he needed.
"Amy King and her boyfriend, Mitchell Samples, 29, were arrested. King is charged with three counts of second-degree child cruelty and one count of first-degree child cruelty, said Dawson County Sheriff Jeff Johnson.
According to Sheriff Johnson, the injuries to the victim must of happened over a time period between February 27 and March 4.
“The child has broken bones, burns and bruises. Even veteran investigator say the injuries are the worst they have seen in a while,” said Sheriff Johnson.
The little boy is in the hospital, currently in intensive care.
