Deputy Sheriff Justin L. Beard was killed Sunday, April 30, 2017 in a one-vehicle wreck while in the line of duty.
According to the Louisiana State Police, the crash happened while he was responding to a burglar alarm call. He lost control of his SUV. The vehicle then went off the road, struck a dirt embankment and started to overturn.
Deputy Beard had been with the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office for three and half years.
He leaves behind a wife and three children.
