Expungement

I'm serving in the army reserves and I am almost done with college. In my younger days I did some stupid stuff. Someone told me that I have to wait five years after an incident to apply for an expungement. Other people said that it can only be sealed. Which one is it? If I have to wait 5 years, can I do some community service to get the process done quicker? I also have a traffic violation. Should I also try and get that expunged? I just want to clear my name and try to get a law enforcement job. What would be the best thing that I can do?

I think the best action you can take is to contact a lawyer that has experience with expungements, he would be able to help you out the most.
