First woman on the FBIs 10 most wanted

Joanne Chesimard, 65, is the first woman on the FBI’s 10 most-wanted-terrorists list. It is reported that Chesimard is living as a fugitive in Cuba since 1979.
Chesimard, of the radical 1970s Black Liberation Army was wanted for a some felonies when she and two other people were stopped by troopers on the turnpike because they had a broken taillight.
When the troopers approached the vehicle, a shoot out erupted. Trooper Werner Foester was severely wounded when Chesimard killed him with two shots to the head with his own gun, authorities said.
Chesimard was caught, and convicted in 1977. In 1979 she escaped from a maximum security prison in Clifton, N.J.
“She continues to flaunt her freedom in the face of this horrific crime,†said New Jersey State Police Superintendent Col. Rick Fuentes.
The reward for the capture of Joanne Chesimard, is $2 million.
The Justice Department had put up a $1 million reward for any information leading to Chesimard’s capture. Yesterday, the 40th anniversary of her execution of a New Jersey state trooper, New Jersey announced that an extra $1 million is being put up, from the state’s civil and criminal forfeiture funds.
