George Zimmerman has been taken into custody by the Lake Mary Police Department.
Lake Mary police say they were called around 2:00 p.m. to the Sprucewood Road home of Shellie Zimmerman's parents.
According to Chief Steve Bracknell, Shellie Zimmerman called 911 claiming George Zimmerman had a gun and was making threats. The victims are not speaking to police and were waiting for their attorney to arrive, Bracknell said.
"As of right now, George Zimmerman has been placed in investigative detention," Lake Mary police spokesman Zach Hudson said. He also said that they are "trying to determine what exactly happened."
Police said they did find a gun in the Lake Mary home, however it was not a part of the altercation.
Hudson told reporters the police are following procedure by placing Zimmerman in investigative detention.
"Anytime we have anybody suspected of doing anything, we place them in investigative detention until a complete investigation has been done," Hudson said.
His wife, Shellie Zimmerman, 26, filed for divorce last Thursday.
