I am in the background process right now

I am in the background process right now with a PD. It has been three weeks since I submitted my paperwork. I know that contact was made with my former employer and my current boss to ask about me. Should I be worried, I feel like it's taking a long time?

I don't really think three weeks is a long time. It can take as long as the investigator and the PD want it to.
