My plates expired six months ago, my car has been broke down for a about a year. I got it fixed and I took it to the safety and emissions station and it failed. My car failed because a new battery was part of the repair and the computer has not reset. I was told that I would have to drive about 100 miles in order to reset the computers so that the emission test can be run. I can't get them renewed without the emission test and cannot get the emission test without driving on expired plates. What is going to happen if a cop pulls me over?
