Justin Bieber pleaded no contest to one count of misdemeanor vandalism. The incident happened on January 9th on his former neighbor’s house in Calabasas, California.
His neighbors charged that Bieber threw at least a dozen raw eggs at the house.
Bieber must pay $80,900 in damages and serve two years on probation. He also needs to complete five days of community labor and a 12-week anger-management program. He was ordered to stay away from the neighbor and his family for two years.
The singer was not present for the arraignment at Superior Court.
“Justin is glad to get this matter resolved and behind him,†a spokesperson for Beiber said. “He will continue to move forward focusing on his career and his music.â€
The spokesperson told reporters the singer is happy to have this resolved. She also said Beiber is moving forward and is focused with his career and music.
Deputy District Attorney Alan Yochelson said the egg throwing was "extremely immature and a silly act." He told reporters he was very happy with the misdemeanor charge.
A hearing is scheduled for August 12th to check on Bieber's progress toward completing his sentence.
