San Francisco police have taken a suspect who allegedly made a racist Twitter threat against San Francisco's acting police chief, Toney Chaplin, into custody, authorities said.

Police identified Donald Eric Hoganson, 60, as the person behind the Twitter account, @BethesdaSavior, which promoted white supremacy and posted images of swastikas and lynchings.

On Saturday, Hoganson, allegedly posted a tweet that stated, "Let us behead this black man," and included a picture of the chief beside an image of a guillotine and a sign stating, "White Trade Only".

Hoganson was in custody but has not yet formally been booked. Police said the investigation is still ongoing, with investigators executing a search warrant.
