HOUSTON. A man shot and killed himself at a northwest Houston hospital Sunday shortly after his wife gave birth, said a spoke person for the Houston police. Authorities said the 32-year-old man, who had recently been distraught, killed himself while in a room with his wife at Willowbrook Methodist Hospital.
No one else was inside the room when the incident happened, however a few nurses told police they could hear the husband and wife arguing shortly before gun shots were fired. The man was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The hospital has a strict "No Gun" policy, but the shooting left some visitors questioning about hospital security. “They should probably have more security, you know. If they’re going to let people in the institution like that,†said Gustavo Manrique, hospital visitor. “They probably need to have cops or something like that around if somebody has a gun or metal detectors or something.â€
Police haven’t released the man’s identity or any more information at this time.
