MARIJUANA BAGS FOUND IN EASTER GIFT FROM OREGON WALMART

NEWPORT, Ore., April 6 (UPI) — An Oregon woman said the Easter bunny made a mistake when he stashed three bags of marijuana in a packaged toy she purchased from Walmart.

Christina Marie Hannahs of Otis said she bought the Vtech Smart Shots Sports Center from the Walmart store in more than a week ago as an Easter gift for her young daughter, and her family opened the toy Easter morning to discover some pieces were missing from the box and had been replaced with three bags of marijuana.

“I was shocked, at first I was like, I kind of laughed and was like oh my gosh, I cannot believe this even came out of there,†Hannahs told KATU-TV.

Hannahs said she put the box up to keep it away from her daughter after discovering the first bag.
“She ended up going for the box. And once she grabbed the box, the box rolled over and two more small bags fell out of it,†Hannahs said.

Hannahs said she believes the box, which was on clearance, must have been purchased by someone else and then returned to the store with the pot inside. She said a police report has been filed.

Aaron Mullins, senior manager with Walmart Media Relations, said the store is cooperating with the police investigation.

“At Walmart we are committed to providing our customers a safe and secure shopping environment. We are actively reviewing this matter and will work with the customer and local authorities to determine what happened,†he said.

Police in Oklahoma made a similar Easter-themed discovery when a stuffed bunny sent through the mail was found to contain an estimated $30,000 worth of methamphetamine. The intended recipient, Carolyn Ross, was arrested and admitted to knowing the drugs were hidden inside he Easter toy.

So true, most likely someone has hidden there and got a nasty surprise when looking for it again. :)

I bet that Easter bunny is sad he didn't have his pot and his gift got returned. It was a double whammy. What's next, Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy having a cocaine party? Who knows.

This is quite amusing, but also dangerous for our children. Well, someone hid their pot in the wrong place! Perhaps they were caught on the spot and needed a quick hiding place.

I think it's appalling how they use kids things to hide drugs in. Last year a mom hid all her drugs in her kids back pack which was a spare and the kid took it school and handed out what she thought were sweets she had found in her back pack. I'm sure they can track back who returned the item though, so whoever is responsible will have a lot to answer for.

I'm sorry if I have to say this BUT let's be realistic. She came out ahead either way. If she were the type of person to invest in getting rid of this merch in her neighbourhood she would have made out like a bandit. HOWEVER, if she's a goo mother who wants nothing to do with this she still wins. Suing is a form of winning.

Woah, people just better be careful next time when buying stuffs from Walmart. Good thing, her kid wasn't the first one to discover the pot. That would have been such a horrible thing.

I was about to say Happy Easter? Then, I realized that it was a small child's Easter gift. Looks like mommy got an Easter gift too! The Easter Bunny is dealing in more than chocolate eggs this year.

Yup. This is probably it. Wasn't probably meant to be stashed in there for any length of time, but the people couldn't come back for it. I see people shoving random things random places all the time in hopes of getting them back, but it rarely works out for either party - the store, or the person. Lol.
