A man sitting in a parked SUV allegedly tossed a suspicious package inside an NYPD patrol car at Times Square before driving away. The suspect was later located at Columbus Circle, where he remained barricaded for over six hours.

"I want to die and I have a bomb strapped to my chest," Meneses told cops, according to police.

After shutting down several blocks of Midtown, NYPD's Bomb Squad checked the device and declared it a hoax. "There is no indication at this time that any explosives are present," said NYPD Chief of Department James O'Neill.

The suspect, Hector Meneses, 52, was later removed on a stretcher and taken to a hospital for evaluation, according to authorities.
