A Tampa Police officer has died during an off-duty incident. Authorities say 48-year-old Patrol Officer Fred Arnold III passed away unexpectedly.
Officer Arnold was visiting southern Nevada. He had been diving in Lake Mead on Saturday when he disappeared, police said. Witnesses say his body surfaced around 1:30 p.m.
Clark County medical examiner said the cause of death is still pending.
The incident remains under investigation. Officer Arnold served for 27 years.
