Franklin Ohio - Police were alerted of a burglary and were searching the area of Sixth Street when they spotted the suspect Charles Cole. Franklin Police Chief Russ Whitman said that Charles Cole became verbally aggressive and then assaulted an officer during a fight. Two good Samaritans, Benjamin Lawson and Levi Miniard came to the officers assistance to arrest Charles Cole.

"Allot of people keep saying I'm a hero and it's really not that", Minard told the news stations. "You don't just watch somebody get beat".

Even though Chief Russ Whitman was pleased the good samaritans assisted the officer, it is not something he advises civilians do.

"These two felt they were able to do it safely and they did do it safely but we'd never ask a citizen to get involved if it's going to risk them or someone else" he said.

The officer was treated and released from Sycamore Hospital.

Charles Cole is going to be charged with felony burglary and felony assault on the police officer.
