A police officer suffered a serious leg injury during a protest event in Seattle Monday afternoon. Officials said the officer suffered a broken leg that was related to the protests, but did not release any other details.

The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. as protesters were roaming the streets near Seattle Center and South Lake Union.
Demonstrators shouting "black lives matter" walked into traffic and eight of them connected themselves together with PVC pipe and laid down on the roadway. After the protesters ignored the officer's warnings to get up, six of them were taken into custody.

By 4:30 p.m, police cleared the protesters from the roadways were opened to traffic. Authorities say none of demonstrators were injured during the incident.

Officials say total of nineteen protesters were arrested by the time the march ended. Protesters claim they were performing "civil disobedience" to protest recent police violence.

Tensions between the police and "black lives matter" demonstrators are going to remain in place for a while. That's a real shame. Not all cops are bad. But until there's some equality in the law in terms of how the bad apple's are treated within the justice system, we can sadly expect to see more confrontations like this.

You're exactly right. Not all cops are bad, but not all people are bad as well and these cops seem to target a specific group. I guess the tables are starting to turn. Policemen have lost all respect as well as people.
