A Shelby police officer who was shot while serving outstanding warrants over the weekend has died, authorities said.
Officer Tim Brackeen died at Carolinas Medical Center Monday morning.
23-year-old Irving Lucien Fenner Jr. allegedly shot officer Brackeen in the torso and ran off. Police are still searching for him.
Officer Tim Brackeen, 38, served with the Shelby Police Department since July, 2004 and worked as a K-9 officer. He is survived by his wife and daughter.
