The Philadelphia police officer who was shot six times during a shooting rampage on September 16, was released from the hospital.

Sgt. Sylvia Young, 46, who had been wearing a bulletproof vest, was shot in her shoulder, arm, and chest.

"She's going to be resting at home, and going to therapy," said a police spokeswoman.

Dozens of her fellow police officers stood outside Penn Presbyterian Medical Center to cheer her on.

The suspect, identified by investigators as Nicholas Glenn, was shot and killed by police.
