A Daytona Beach man who raped and fondled his 8-month-old pit bull puppy was sentenced to five years in a Florida state prison.
James Guy Bull, 62, pleaded guilty to felony cruelty to animals, misdemeanor animal cruelty charges, and misdemeanor sexual activities involving animals, according to the State Attorney's Office.
"The facts of this case are incomprehensible and vile," said State Attorney R.J. Larizza. "The defendant's abuse of the helpless dog shocks the collective conscience of the citizens of the Seventh Circuit and beyond."
Bull was arrested in March after neighbors called police after they spotted Bull fondling the dog’s private parts. Dean Ray Gil, Bull's neighbor, testified that he repeatedly heard the puppy, Coco, yelping and screaming.
He told the judge that he looked outside and saw the suspect having sex with the dog. When Bull realized his neighbor saw him molesting the puppy, he yanked his pants and threw the puppy to he ground.
When the authorities arrived to the scene they found Coco to be “clearly emaciated†and chained to a post on the front porch.
"She had about 8 inches of free reign, no water, no shelter and no food for her," it stated in affidavit. The dog had signs of physical sexual abuse and was "skittish and obviously afraid."
An animal rescue group is reportedly fostering the puppy and have renamed her Rose.

People have sick minds, doing that to an animal, that's a well deserved time for him to think.
