qualifications or skills

I have seen a lot of posts on here talking about getting a degree before getting into law enforcement. I wanted to know if any of you didn't that route what made you stand out from the others and get hired? I was thinking about applying without a degree so I wanted to know qualifications or skills will help me look better than others.

I was hired a long time ago, when it was different. You don't need a degree to be hired, however I would advice to get one before going into the LE field, it's very hard to get one when you are working a full time as a Police Officer.
