Sergeant Allen Brandt succumbed to injuries on Friday, October 28, 2016.

Authorities say Sergeant Brandt was shot six times on October 16 while responding to a report of shots fired.

The suspect fled the scene, but was later caught, according to police.

Sergeant Brandt was flown to an Anchorage hospital for treatment.

Sergeant Allen Brandt, 34, was a 11 year veteran with the Fairbanks Police Department. He leaves behind his wife, and four children.
