Sergeant Curtis Blackbird died Sunday, March 26, 2017 in the line of duty.

Sergeant Blackbird of Omaha Nation Tribal Law Enforcement was responding to a call when he was killed in a vehicle crash on Highway 94 in Northeast Nebraska.

He spent over thirty years serving in law enforcement. He is survived by his wife, two sisters and two grandchildren.
