Shelby Officer Remains In Critical Condition

Shelby Police Officer Tim Brackeen officer was shot in the chest while serving outstanding warrants.

According to the Shelby Police Department, Officer Brackeen, found the suspect, 23-year-old Irving Lucien Fenner Jr. around 12:20 a.m. Saturday morning.

The two struggled and officer Brackeen was shot in the chest, said Shelby Police Chief Jeff Ledford.

Other police officers heard gunfire, they ran and discovered the injured officer just outside the home, said Ledford.

He remains in critical condition. Officer Brackeen was wearing his bulletproof vest at the time of the shooting.

Police are actively searching for the suspect.
