A 29-year-old Bucks County man was arrested in connection to a vandalism spree that targeted veterans graves at a Bensalem cemetery.
Police say Anthony Davis Carter, 29, allegedly burned dozens American flags and decorations at the gravesites belonging to deceased Bucks County veterans.
Authorities were able to gather DNA from a wood handle from one of the small flags that was burned. Then by luck and good timing, an officer saw Carter walking through one of the cemeteries one night.
Police say Carter agreed to give a DNA sample. Carter was then arrested on Veterans Day after he was linked to the scene through a DNA database.
"Why this knucklehead would decide to damage grave stones and marks and burn American flags, I have no idea," said Fred Harran, Bensalem Public Safety Director.
Police say there are five reported vandalism incidents that took place over the summer at Roosevelt Memorial Park and Rosedale Memorial Park.
Carter, who has denied that he vandalized the graves was charged with institutional vandalism, arson and other related offenses.
He is in Bucks County prison in lieu of 10% of $10,000 bail.

Doesn't this guy has better things to do than to destroy property and memories from dead veterans? What a shame.

Knucklehead is the right word, what was he thinking, vandalism is something that doesn't make any sense.

Because he's a knucklehead. That's why.

Some black males really think America is out to get them, and the burning of flags obviously indicates such an idea floating around in the mind of this knucklehead.
