Miami Gardens police stated Lester Reid, 36, an employee at Chili’s, died after being shot in the kitchen.
Authorities said Arturo Exum, 31, stormed into the restaurant and shot the victim.
The incident began when Exum’s girlfriend, a server, called him to complain about an argument she had with the victim.
Exum turned himself into Miami Gardens police Tuesday morning. He is being charged with first degree murder.
Chili’s Headquarters issued a statement: “We are shocked and deeply saddened by this tragic situation and the loss of one of our Team Members. We are doing everything we can to fully cooperate with the police and fire and rescue teams who were so quick to respond.”
