CHRISTIANSBURG, Virginia. An 18 year old college student was arrested Friday after shooting and wounding two women at a mall. Both victims are in the hospital following the shooting. The suspect is being held without bond at the Montgomery County Jail.

Neil Allan MacInnis, an 18 year old college student will face two counts each of malicious wounding and also using a firearm in the commission of a felony stemming from the shooting at the satellite campus of New River Community College at New River Valley Mall, Christiansburg Police Chief Mark Sisson said.

Authorities are investigating online postings allegedly made by the suspect MacInnis before the Friday shooting. As of now they are unable to confirm whether the postings were legitimate. They were also looking into a motive and to see if there is any connection between MacInnis and the two victims.

Due to the ongoing investigation, authorities have not released any information on how the weapon was obtained, the type and how many shots the suspect fired off during the incident.
