HUNTSVILLE, Texas. A North Texas man, forty year old Ronnie Threadgill has been executed. The third execution this year in Texas.

Less than two hours after the U.S. Supreme Court had rejected a last day appeal, Threadgill received lethal injection. He was pronounced dead 30 minutes later.

Ronnie Threadgill, was convicted 12 years ago in the fatal shooting of 17 year old Dexter McDonald during a carjacking.

Before receiving the lethal injection, Threadgill showed love to his friends and supporters and told them he was "going to a better place."

The attorneys for Threadgill argued that the case should be reviewed because Threadgill had deficient legal help during the 2002 capital murder trial when he was sentenced to die for the killing.

State attorneys said the appeal was their attempt to delay the punishment.
