WEST,Texas. An officer thought to have died in the blast of a fertilizer plant has been found alive.

Waco Police Sgt. William Patrick Swanton told reporters that the man serves as both a constable and a volunteer firefighter. He is in the hospital with "pretty serious injuries."

Swanton also reports that three or four other volunteer firefighters who responded to the fire are unaccounted for.

Hospitals in the area have seen more than 160 people for different injuries. Sgt. Swanton guesses there is five to fifteen people that could of have died.

The area is closed off to residents as rescuers are still searching for survivors.

Both state and federal fire agencies are working together to investigate the cause of the fire. Sheriff's deputies have been charged with investigating the deaths.
